Introducing Reimagined Ideation Experience in Spotter Studio

SHARE

Since the public launch of Spotter Studio one year ago, we’ve been helping YouTube creators make better videos more consistently. Spotter Studio makes it easier to ideate, prioritize, and package videos using personalized insights grounded in data and inspired by the world’s best Creators.

On our journey, we’ve helped creators of all types. We've helped professional creators like Unspeakable brainstorm better video ideas. We saved creators like ChefPK 40hrs per month by enhancing his ideation practice by making it more effective to move from inspiration to an idea and an idea to an Outlier video. We’ve helped thousands of creators make hit videos like Walk With History’s 87.61X Outlier.

One year into  our mission, we’re making our biggest changes yet. Today we’re introducing a brand new ideation experience in Spotter Studio and ushering in a suite of new improvements to help creators do two things:

  1. Turn inspiration into ideas
  2. Turn ideas into hit videos

Chat Experience Turns Inspiration into Personalized Ideas More Effectively

When you log into Spotter Studio, you’ll see our new Chat experience on the homepage. This data-driven ideation partner helps you develop high quality video ideas by making the ideation process more intuitive and conversational. Spotter Studio now allows you to source inspiration and interact intuitively with personalized ideas. It also helps you develop ideas that you can trust will perform well compared to other ideation systems.

In a recent creator catch up, Chris from the travel and adventure channel Chris and Sara shared what they love about Spotter Studio: "I use Spotter Studio for brainstorming video ideas over ChatGPT because it’s built for YouTube. I trust it understands the best practices for creators, pulling from real YouTube data instead of just guessing." Their channel has already seen success by taking the inspiration and ideas brainstormed in Studio to develop hit videos like this one which was a 1.87X Outlier for the channel.

The difference is clear: when you can intuitively interact with your inspiration and brainstorm ideas rooted in real data and tailored to your channel, you get videos that are more likely to perform. That’s what the reimagined ideation experience in Spotter Studio is designed to give you: confidence that the time you spend in Spotter Studio brainstorming leads to videos worth making. The result is an ideation process that feels more personalized, intuitive, and more likely to produce your next hit.

Turning Ideas to Hit Videos Intuitively

Spotter Studio doesn’t stop once you have a good idea. Whether you’re searching for a shoot location or looking for a new twist on your best-performing series, you can develop valuable ideas with the confidence that they’ll actually perform. Save the ones you like to your Idea Bank, prioritize them, and dismiss ideas that won’t fit for your channel.

We caught up with Scott from the history channel, Walk With History who has developed 14 hit videos using Spotter Studio—including a massive 87X Outlier—and he shared some insight from his ideation process:

Instead of starting from scratch, he asked: “What are some local history ideas within three hours of Memphis?”

When Scott began chatting with web search enabled. Studio surfaced ideas directly tied to his channel. Two that jumped out were The Legendary Beale Street: Birthplace of the Blues and Sultana Disaster: The Worst Maritime Disaster in US History. Because they were local and easy to film, he turned both into videos in a single day. That was the shift: instead of digging for inspiration, he had strong, ready-to-shoot ideas saved in his Idea Bank. From there, sketching thumbnails gave him confidence heading into production.

Their entire process looked like:

  1. Brainstorm ideas surfaced in Chat personalized to the channel.
  2. Save, organize and prioritize ideas in Idea Bank.
  3. Develop additional packaging ideas pre-shoot.
  4. Film on location with packaging top of mind.

By the time the camera turned on, Scott already knew which storybeats and visuals he needed to capture, giving him the confidence he needed to create compelling videos for his audience.

Personalized Ideas You Can Trust To Perform

In terms of the actual ideas of Spotter Studio surfaces, we’ve also made big improvements. The ideas in Studio are rooted in analysis of the channel’s history, backed by best practices from the world’s best YouTubers and interwoven with Outlier data from videos across YouTube.

We’ve refined the ideas hand-in-hand with one of the world’s best packaging experts, Jay Alto. Thumbnail ideation for example ensures you can easily explore different compositions, ensure simplicity in design, and different moods and tones can easily be applied all while being deeply personalized to your channel. All you have to do is ask Spotter Studio Chat and begin brainstorming ideas.
